I am the Executive Director and Chief Conservation Scientist at S.P.E.C.I.E.S., the Society for the Preservation of Endangered Carnivores and their International Ecological Study, an international NGO focused on the science and conservation of carnivores. Some of my primary research interests include the evolution and behaviour of felids, predator-prey and intraguild relationships, evidence-based conflict mitigation, and long-term population monitoring. As conservation practitioner, I develop novel approaches to human-felid conflict resolution, incentives that promote habitat connectivity and restoration, and integrative strategies leading to human-felid coexistence. I work globally on many large and small felids, including clouded leopards and fishing cats across tropical Asia, jaguars in the Gran Chaco, leopards in South and Southeast Asia, and pumas in the United States.
