1995-2018Focus on wild cat conservation.  Raised funds for projects by members of the IUCN Cat Specialist Group.  Produced numerous studies for clients including TRAFFIC, CITES Secretariat, World Wildlife Fund, and The World Bank.  Publications including journal articles, reports and book chapters available here. IUCN Red List Coordinator for Cats 1993-2016.

1992-1996Consultant to Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Namibia.  Studies of cheetah predation in Etosha National Park for USAID project and author of Namibian Cheetah Conservation Strategy.

1989-1992Consultant to TRAFFIC in Taiwan and founder of TRAFFIC Taipei office (1992). Studies of illegal wildlife trade with mainland China, especially rhino horn and tiger bone.
