I am an Assistant Professor of Biology at Lincoln University. I completed my Ph.D. in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where my dissertation research examined the habitat preference and ecology of small felids in Sumatra. I also evaluated the level of human-small felid conflict in the region, and assessed the efficacy of education and mitigation strategies in reducing conflict. My ongoing research is focused on continuing to elucidate the ecology of understudied small felids in South and Southeast Asia, as well as in Central America. I am particularly interested in felid use of fragmented landscapes, coexistence with humans, and using novel techniques to assess biodiversity.
